IMHO a basket full of these modes d'jour are nothing more than PSK with variant protocols (in ADIF speak, read - sub modes).

What ARRL does with LotW is entirely up to the whims of the ARRL IT Department - most of their "Modes" are not ADIF compliant. Similarly a *compliant* application will *always* emit/export FSK JT4.

Properly ADIF compliant software will accept JT4 (when adopted by the ADIF coordinating/steering group) - as might occur with WSJT-X and/or JT-AlertX - and internally translate to FSK JT4. *HOWEVER* Mode/Sub-Mode is not really critical with ADIF. Mode can be loosely interpreted as "modulation" (e.g., AM, CW, FM, FSK, PSK) and sub-mode as coding (e.g., PSK31, PSK62, "RTTY", ASCII, LSB/USB, Olivia, MFSK, JT65, JT9, FT8, etc.).
